Patrick Mahomes, also known as Patrick Lavon Mahomes II, is an American football quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League. He was born on September 17, 1995. (NFL). He began his undergraduate career at Texas Tech University, where he was the son of former Major League Baseball (MLB) pitcher Pat Mahomes. He gave up baseball after his sophomore year to focus exclusively on football. He led all NCAA Division I FBS players in numerous categories during his junior year, including passing yards (5,052) and total touchdowns (53). Early Life
Mahomes was born in Tyler, Texas, on September 17, 1995, to Pat Mahomes, an MLB pitcher at the time, and Randi Mahomes. Whitehouse High School in Whitehouse, Texas was his alma mater. He was a three-sport athlete who excelled in football, baseball, and basketball. Mahomes believes that pitching and basketball conditioning helped him grow as a quarterback. Professional Career
After skipping his senior year, Patrick Mahomes entered the 2017 NFL draught, where he was picked in the first round with the 10th overall choice by the Kansas City Chiefs, who had traded up to get him. Mahomes missed two games in the middle of the season in 2019 due to a dislocated kneecap.
