Crone and Poirier took silver in their first senior Grand Prix event, Skate Canada, in 2008, and finished fourth in their second tournament. They won bronze at the 2009 NHK Trophy the following season. They were nominated to represent Canada in the 2010 Winter Olympics at the 2010 Canadian Championships. Crone announced in November that she was still looking for a partner to help her continue her competitive career.
