From the beginning of time, God decreed that work would be an essential part of human life. We can see God’s design for us to bring glory to His name through our labor in the location where He has placed us from Adam’s workplace in the Garden of Eden to Jesus’ workplace in Israel. For us in the twenty-first century, we want our work and our businesses to reflect well on the Lord.
So, wherever you work, and no matter how difficult or dark the environment appears, here are eight prayers to help you have the right heart and mindset as you pray for your coworkers and your workplace environment.

Prayer for Job Hunting
Jesus, You are aware of my requirements. You are aware of my longing for a job, for work that I enjoy, for the next step in my career to present itself. I ask that you guide me as I continue on this job-searching journey. May I prioritize your will for my life, putting your desires and plan ahead of my own desires and wants. Open doors to new opportunities for me, and provide me with the skills, knowledge, and wisdom I need to move forward in this process. Give me the words to speak and the courage to share who I am and what I can do as I craft my resume, write cover letters, submit my applications, connect with new companies and potential employers, and go on interviews. Give me confidence that only you can give me, as well as humility. I put my trust in you, Lord; my life is in your hands. Your will has been carried out. Thank you for being there for me every step of the way and for always meeting my every need. All for your glory, Lord. In your name, Amen.
