Kris Jenner formerly Kristen Mary Jenner is an American media personality, socialite, and businesswoman who was born on November 5, 1955. She rose to prominence as a star of the reality show Keeping Up with the Kardashians (2007–2021).
Kourtney, Kim, Khloé, and Robert are her four children from her first marriage to lawyer Robert Kardashian, while Kendall and Kylie are her two daughters from her second marriage to television personality and retired Olympic Games champion Bruce Jenner (now Caitlyn).
Jenner has appeared on the covers of CR Fashion Book, Redbook, Cosmopolitan, Harper’s Bazaar, The Hollywood Reporter, Es Magazine, Variety, New You, Haute Living, WSJ. Magazine, and Stellar, among other publications.

Early Life
Jenner was born on November 5, 1955, in San Diego, California, to Mary Jo “M. J.” Shannon (née Campbell; born 1934), a children’s clothes business owner, and Robert True “Bob” Houghton (1931–1975), an engineer. M. J. and Bob separated when she was seven years old, and M. J. and her younger sister, Karen Casey (née Houghton; born 1958), were raised by their mother. M. J. eventually remarried, businessman Harry Shannon (1926–2003), who assisted her and Karen in their upbringing. Steven “Steve” Shannon, her mother’s brother, was born as a result of her mother’s marriage to Harry.
Shannon’s business partner allegedly left with all of the company’s funds three months after the family moved to Oxnard, California, so the family returned to San Diego. Jenner worked at Shannon & Company, a children’s clothes company owned by her mother, in San Diego. Jenner graduated from Clairemont High School in 1973. In 1976, she worked as a flight attendant for American Airlines for a year.

On July 8, 1978, Jenner married to lawyer Robert Kardashian (who later became well-known for his early legal representation of O. J. Simpson). Kourtney (born 1979), Kim (born 1980), Khloé (born 1984), and Rob (born 1989) are their four children (born 1987). Although they divorced in March 1991, they remained close friends until his death in 2003 from esophageal cancer.
Jenner admitted to having an affair with Todd Waterman, a former soccer player, and animator, during her marriage to Kardashian in 2012. In her memoirs, she referred to Waterman as “Ryan,” but he revealed his true identity on his own. While Kris was getting a tennis lesson, they had an encounter on Keeping Up With the Kardashians.
Kris Jenner filed for divorce on September 22, 2014, alleging irreconcilable differences, after the Jenners announced their separation in October 2013. Because of a six-month state legal procedure, the divorce was finalized on March 23, 2015. Jenner described his breakup with Caitlyn as “heartbreaking.” “Caitlyn’s usage of hormones in the 1980s was “the most passive-aggressive thing,” she said, adding that “there wasn’t a gender issue.” There was no discussion of a gender issue.” Jenner is the mother of 10 grandkids.

Jenner is the CEO of Jenner Communications, a production business situated in Los Angeles. She has been managing the careers of her children Kim, Kourtney, Khloe, Kendall, and Kylie since before the premiere of Keeping Up with the Kardashians. She is also involved in the operation of her other daughters’ and son’s businesses.
Smooch
Jenner and her eldest daughter, Kourtney, opened a children’s store in 2004. “Smooch” was the name of the boutique, which was operating for almost six years before closing in 2009. Jenner established the Kris Jenner Kollection clothing line with QVC in 2011. She had previously worked for QVC, selling workout equipment in the 1990s. Jenner and her daughter Kim collaborated on a perfume called KKW x Kris in April 2020.

Kris Jenner… and All Things Kardashian, Jenner’s autobiography, was published in November 2011. In the Kitchen with Kris: A Kollection of Kardashian-Jenner Family Favorites, her first cookbook, was released in October 2014.
Keeping Up with the Kardashians
Jenner spoke with Ryan Seacrest in 2007 to discuss developing a reality program about her family. With the successful family-based sitcom The Osbournes in mind, Seacrest, who had his own production company, decided to pursue the idea. Jenner went on to say about the proposed series:
For example, there are the tiny girls, the older girls, and then my son. […] Everyone believes they have the ability to generate a lot of drama in their life, but I felt I didn’t even have to consider it. It would be entirely normal.
