AB Quintanilla failed to provide for Giani and his siblings at one point
While he fathered a large number of children through his multiple marriages, he allegedly failed to provide for all of them at times. As a result, he was named one of the top ten most wanted men in Corpus Christi in 2017.
According to reports, officials began looking for him after he failed to meet his financial obligations as a father. He rose to prominence as a result of his failure to pay child support to his ex-wives.
As a result, the bass guitarist was sentenced to time in Nueces County Jail. He eventually agreed to pay child support and be released from prison. He allegedly owed approximately $90,000 in addition to medical and legal fees.
In his defence, Giani’s father claimed that everything was a misunderstanding and that he did not deserve to go to jail.
AB Quintanilla son went Missing
In March 2021, AB was back in the news after reports surfaced that one of his children had gone missing. However, it wasn’t Giani. Rather it was Elijah, the other son of the Washington-born musician. He hadn’t communicated with anyone since the day before. Elijah’s mother later notified the police, but they were unable to locate him for two nights.
AB, on the other hand, claimed that his son was not missing. Elijah, Giani Quintanilla’s half-brother, was later found and issued a statement on social media confirming that he had indeed gone missing.
He revealed that he remained contactless because he had a falling out with his mother and one of AB Quintanilla’s ex-wives. Elijah, on the other hand, apologised for causing his mother to be concerned about him.

Selena Quintanilla was murdered
Selena was 23 at the time of her death. Giani Quintanilla’s father, AB Quintanilla was devastated following his sister, Selena’s death. Following the tragic incident, the deceased Latin artist’s band no longer existed and AB also took a break from music. He later resurfaced in 1999 with his new act, the Kumbia Kings.
