George Lopez was born on April 23, 1961, at Mission Hills, Los Angeles. He is Anastasio and Frieda Lopez’s son.
George had a difficult chance at a good life when his father abandoned him when he was just two months old. His mother also left him when he was ten years old.
His maternal grandmother, Benita Gutierrez, a factory worker, and step-grandfather, Refugio Gutierrez, a construction worker, adopted him.
