Floyd Joy Mayweather Jr. (born Floyd Joy Mayweather on February 24, 1977) is a boxing promoter and former boxer from the United States. He currently owns The Money Team Racing, a NASCAR Cup Series team. He was a professional boxer from 1996 to 2017, retiring with an undefeated record and 15 major world championships ranging from super featherweight to light middleweight. The Ring magazine title in five weight classes and the lineal championship in four weight classes are included (twice at welterweight). He won a bronze medal in the featherweight division at the 1996 Olympics, three US Golden Gloves championships (at light flyweight, flyweight, and featherweight), and the US national featherweight championship as an amateur boxer.

Early Life
Floyd Mayweather was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on February 24, 1977. Floyd Mayweather Sr., his father, was a professional boxer who memorably battled Sugar Ray Leonard. Floyd Jr.’s uncles Jeff and Roger were both professional boxers in the past. Floyd Sr. and Roger have both worked as Floyd’s trainers at various times.
Floyd’s mother was a heroin addict when he was a child, and his father was relatively absent. When Floyd was old enough to go to the boxing gym, his father spent most of his time with him. Floyd moved live with his grandmother after his father was imprisoned. Floyd devoted himself to boxing during this time. He dropped out of high school to pursue a career as an amateur.
