Form the creation of the world, it’s clear that God wanted a relationship between Him and man. Like the Bible said in Genesis 3:8a (And they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: KJV), that He would come in the cool of the day to commune with man. He never wanted anything to come in between Him and man, neither was it His desire for man to be distanced from Him.
Our God is a jealous God (Exodus 34:14 For thou shalt worship no other god: for the Lord, whose name [is] Jealous, [is] a jealous God: KJV). He made us in His image to worship Him. He reacts in a hostile manner any time we take His worship to any other thing.
Even though we fell short of His glory, He made plans through the prophets and His dear Son, Jesus Christ, to repair the relationship so we continue to enjoy unbroken relationship with Him.

What breaches our relationship with God?
Isaiah 59:2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid [his] face from you, that he will not hear. KJV
Micah 3:4 Then shall they cry unto the Lord, but he will not hear them: he will even hide his face from them at that time, as they have behaved themselves ill in their doings. KJV
Habakkuk 1:13 [Thou art] of purer eyes than to behold evil, and canst not look on iniquity: KJV
The Bible said it is only sin that demarcates us from God, our Creator. And once the separation is there, God hides His face from us.
For a continuous, uninterrupted relationship with God, He has given us His laws. In the laws of God lies the oil that lubricates our relationship with Him. And being in a relationship with God is the most valuable thing on earth (Psalm 84:10 For a day in thy courts [is] better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness. KJV).
God does not condone sin. He is a righteous God. No sin is found in Him.
What do you do when God turns His back on you?
The devil thought he had won the battle at the fall of man. He rejoiced and celebrated over our fall, thinking ours is finished. He did not realize he is a creature and not the Creator. God laughed at his stupidity and foolishness. God has all situations under control.
Lamentations 3:37 Who [is] he [that] saith, and it cometh to pass, [when] the Lord commandeth [it] not? KJV
There’s a remedy. The Omniscience God knew everything before they happen. He made provisions for reconciliation before man fell. He had always sent His servants, the prophets, to redirect man back to Him. It has never been His desire that any of us should perish.
2Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. KJV
Zechariah 1:3 Therefore say thou unto them, Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Turn ye unto me, saith the Lord of hosts, and I will turn unto you, saith the Lord of hosts. KJV
Hosea 14:1,4. 1 O Israel, return unto the Lord thy God; for thou hast fallen by thine iniquity. 4 I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely: for mine anger is turned away from him. KJV
Joel 2:13 And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the Lord your God: for he [is] gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil. KJV
The Bible has made it abundantly clear that God is waiting for us with outstretched hands. No matter the enormity of our sin, He’s assured us of forgiveness. The death of His dear Son, Jesus Christ, on the cross of Calvary is never, and will never be in vain. All we need do is to repent of our sins, confess them to God, forsake them, and make sure we do the will of God. In remaining perpetually in doing the will of God does come the uninterruptible relationship with Him.
God is waiting on you. He’s calling you today. Will you heed the call and become friend with God?
