trusting god

Welcome to today’s episode of our daily bible study. The title of today’s daily bible nugget is, trust God and His plan. you can watch the video below,

In the previous episode of our daily bible study, we discussed the topic that says; learn to show gratitude.

We read in the book of Exodus chapter 13 verse 11 and 12, God commanded Moses to tell the Israelites that, when they enter the promised land and settled, they should consecrate for the Lord every male firstborn of both man and animal. This is in remembrance and in appreciation for what the Lord did for the Israelites in saving the firstborn of the Israelites in Egypt. From here, we learnt the importance of showing gratitude and appreciation. When someone does you a favor, courtesy demands you show appreciation, irrespective of how you feel about the gesture. Even if it is a cup of water you were offered, learn to say thank you, and teach your kids to do same.

When we show appreciation for smaller things, chances are that we will get bigger favors. The last episode discusses a lot about showing appreciation and gratitude. If you have not watched that episode of our daily bible study, the video is in the playlist, you can watch it after watching today’s episode.

In today’s episode, we will discuss the topic that says; trust God and his plan.

In the book of Exodus chapter 13 verse 17, it says; when pharaoh let the people of Israel go, God did not lead them on the road through the Philistine country, though that was shorter. For God said, “if the face war, they might change their minds and return to Egypt.”

This passage has a very significant lesson for all of us. Sometimes in life, we ask God for something or we expect something from God, but we end up not getting exactly what we asked for or expected. It does not mean that God denied us our desire, instead, it means that God disallowed us to get what we desired, because He had seen and known what is to our best interest.

Most times, those things we desire and expect have hidden and unfavorable consequences. But God, who knows the end from the beginning knows what the outcome of those events will be, in His infinite love for us, He prevents us from getting those things.

We saw in the passage we read from the bible, that the road through the Philistine country is shorter, but God instead, led them around the desert. This is because there is a potential war that could erupt on the way.

The Israelites might feel uncomfortable when the found out they are taking the longer route, but that longer route is the best option for them. We have to learn how to trust God and His plan.

God’s plan for us is the best. We only need to trust Him. He knows the way in the wilderness, he knows the best path to follow, hence, trusting and relying on His plan is the best option we have. So, from today, whenever you pray and ask God for something and you don’t get it, whenever it looks like the process is taking longer, do not worry, wait on the Lord and trust His plan; He knows what is the best for us.

May we learn to trust and rely on God’s plan and program for us. Amen.
