Bing Gordon, AKA William “Bing” Gordon was born in the year 1950. Gordon received his diploma from Cranbrook School in 1968. He graduated from Yale University with a BA in drama and literature and serves on the President’s Council. After acting in New York for a while, he relocated to the Bay Area and earned an MBA from Stanford in 1978.

Gordon joined EA in 1982, when it was just a one-person marketing department, after working as an account executive at the advertising firm Ogilvy and Mather. Gordon continued to drive marketing strategy and execution as the company grew. After a few years, Gordon became more involved on the creative side, dealing directly with game teams on concepts, helping to plan and carry out game designs, and giving feedback on the games as they evolved.
Since June 2008, Bing Gordon has been a partner at the venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers. From March 1998 to May 2008, Mr Gordon co-founded EA and served as its Executive Vice President and Chief Creative Officer through which he gained experience with emerging technologies and consumer-focused product development and marketing issues, as well as his experience as a venture capitalist investing in and advising technology companies. After EA invested in the fledgling program, he accepted a faculty chair position at the University of Southern California’s Interactive Media Division in 2005. Gordon announced on April 28, 2008, that he would be leaving EA to join the venture capital firm KPCB in June 2008. Mr Gordon is a director on the boards of N3twork, a media sharing company, Airtime Media Inc., a messaging company, and Zazzle Inc., a web-based custom products company.
Mr Gordon is a special advisor to the executive board of Amazon, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMZN), an online retail company, and served on the board from 2003 to January 2018. He also served as a founding director of Ngmoco, LLC (which was acquired by DeNA Co. Ltd. in 2010) and Audible, Inc. (acquired by Amazon.com, Inc. in 2008).
Gordon joined Amazon’s Board of Directors in 2003 and stepped down in 2017.
