Billionaire business magnate, Alh Aliko Dangote, born on April 10, 1957, is the wealthiest black man on planet earth, Alh Aliko Dangote. His dream is to ensure that every family in Africa has his product. Today, He is the President of Dangote Group and his investment spans different consumer products like sugar, flour, cement, noodles etc. He controls cement plants, sugar refineries and fertiliser factories. Fortunately, he is black, a Nigerian from Kano state.
Alhaji Aliko Dangote’s parents are Mohammed Dangote and Mariya Sanusi Dantata. Dangote’s great grandfather, Alhaji Alhassan Dantata, was the richest man in West Africa in 1955.

Dangote attended Sheikh Ali Kumasi Madrasa, Capital High School in Kano before he got his first degree in Business Administration from Cairo Al-Azhar University in 1977.
Dangote inherited business acumen from his great grandfather. This businessman started doing business before his teens. He used to buy sweets those days and sell them to his classmates just to make a profit for himself.

After graduating from the University, he didn’t choose to depend on his family’s Dantata Group, rather he chose to start up his own business at 21, in 1977. He left his family in Kano and moved to Lagos, Nigeria to start up a business as a trader. Before leaving, he took a loan from his uncle to start with. He repaid the loan sooner than expected.
From there he decided to go into other businesses and this was how he started the Dangote Group which comprised Dangote Cement, Dangote Salt and Dangote Flour. In the early 2000s, he built two cement factories in Nigeria and became the biggest local producer in Nigeria. Before the birth of the African Continental Free Trade Area, Aliko had already built cement plants in over 10 African countries.
Today, his companies have covered different industries ranging from sugar, soft drinks, cement, transport, oil, banking, real estate etc. He has branches in Benin, Ghana, Nigeria and Togo. He boasts of the largest sugar refinery in Africa producing over 800,000 tons of sugar per annum.
In 2013, he became the richest African on earth. And in 2014, he was the 23rd richest in the world.
In February 2022, he partnered with Stellantis Group, the parent company of Peugeot, the Kano and Kaduna state government to establish the Dangote Peugeot Automobiles Nigeria Limited (DPAN) factory.
This factory, basically an assembly facility for Peugeot, is based in Kaduna, Nigeria.

Aliko first got married when he was in university. This marriage was reportedly arranged by his family. He, later on, divorced her. There’s no news of her name anywhere.
He also married Maria AD Muhammad but they also divorced.
