pray then work

Welcome to today’s episode of our daily bible study, titled; Know when to pray and when to act. This episode contains a very important message that will transform your life for good. the video is below, make sure you watch to the end.

Here is a brief summary of the last episode. In the previous episode of our daily bible study, we discussed the topic that says; be mindful of what you say when troubled, lest you regret it.

It happened that when the Israelites took the longer route as they marched out of Egypt, pharaoh pursued them, and caught up with them at the sea of reeds. At this point, the Israelites were terrified, and feared for their lives. This fear made the Israelites spoke ill of Moses and blamed him for making them leave Egypt. They called to mind their slavery safety in Egypt and wished they had not left. They forgot that the Lord, that helped them leave Egypt will still protect them from the armies of Pharaoh. As the story goes, God pathed the sea, they walked through, the Egyptians drowned and they were saved.

From here, we learned that, no matter the situation one is passing through, they should guide their tongue from uttering words that they might regret in the future.

If you have not watched the video, it is in the playlist. You can watch it after watching today’s episode.

Today’s topic is; know when to pray and when to act.

After the Israelites complained and blamed Moses for bringing them out of Egypt to kill them in the desert, because the saw the Egyptian armies coming after them, to take them back to Egypt. Moses prayed to God and God replied in the book of Exodus chapter 14 verses 15 and 16 saying; why are you crying to me? Tell the Israelites to move on. Raise your staff and stretch out your hand over the sea to divide the water so that the Israelites can go through the sea on dry land.

At the moment when the matter seemed insurmountable and very critical, Moses prayed, but God told him, the time was for action and not prayer.

This passage teaches us how to have a balanced approach to life. And that is; to pray and to work. Have time to pray and time to work. Some issues require you pray, while some require you pray and take physical action. Moses needed to take action at that moment to divide the sea and not prayer. We need to understand this in our lives.

Do not pray when you should be taking action, it brings no reasonable result. There is a lot that can be taught about this, but the message is simple, and that is, know when to pray and when to take action. Combining the two will produce optimal result, just like in the case of the Israelites at the sea of reeds.

May God give us the wisdom to know when to pray and when to act. Amen
