One day in the grave and
No way they could save him
Still can’t believe they gave in to the crowd.
They tortured and they nailed him.
Then, just for spite, impaled him.
He hung his head and cried “It is finished” now.
They laid his battered corpse there on that borrowed stone-cold bed
And I’m the guard they chose to make sure he stayed dead.
Two days in the grave and
Not much was new to say when I heard a woman praying, “Lord, will it be long?”
They all stood right beside Him.

Had thrown the gates of hell just like a prison door and said
