Buhari Fires Adamu, Appoints Alkali Baba as New IGP

DIG Usman Alkali Baba has now been appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari as the Acting Inspector General of police.

This was confirmed by Maigari Dingyadi, the Minister of Police Affairs, while speaking to State House correspondents on Tuesday.

Usman Alkali Baba will now replace Mohammed Abubakar Adamu whose tenure was recently extended.

Buhari had on February 4, 2021, extended Adamu’s tenure as the Inspector General of Police for three months but the president isn’t waiting until the expiration of that time before replacing him.
